The new paper studio I am working at is located in downtown Minneapolis at a place called the Minnesota Center for Book Arts. Some things i enjoy about this space are: The floors is tilted to the drain, three beaters, available flat file and small storage for my supplies, and a community of artist. I am currently the paper studio monitor which means I will be running the open studio workshops. This Saturday come join me for some marbling fun.
As far as my art goes, I am working on dying some Kozo which will be pulled genitally apart to make a organic web. I will be making about 100 of these webs about 6 inches in legnth. Then I will chine-colle them to some recycled paper sheets to make my wedding intentations. I am also continuing my printing process from graduate school but I still don't know how I'm going to print these. MCAD is now charging a $40 fee for anyone (inculding faucautly) who uses the printshop. I was really hoping to use that studio in June. Now I have to come up with $40.
